Bonn
Embracing the banks of the Rhine River, Bonn was founded by the Romans between 13 and 9BC. Every inch a historic, riverside hub, the city was chosen to be the administrative capital of West Germany during the Cold War. The city is also famous for its connections to composer Ludwig van Beethoven who was born here. His birthplace on Bonngasse is now a museum which features a collection of artefacts relating to his life and work.
