Waterford
With a history dating back to the Viking raiders of the 10th-century, Waterford is the oldest city in all of Ireland. Famous for its crystal production, which you can witness at The House of Waterford Crystal, the city boasts some great museums, a pretty harbour and a vibrant calendar of festivals and other events. Part of the city’s ancient walled core remains, and a visit to the ancient Reginald’s Tower or an afternoon spent at the Waterford Museum of Treasures will surely delight any history buff.
