Arches and Canyonlands National Park will provide awe-inspiring crags and rock formations. No park offers more spectacular landscapes, impressive geysers and geo-thermal features, or more abundant wildlife than Yellowstone. Along the way you can tour popular Salt Lake City attractions such as the Mormon Tabernacle and the varied points of interest in San Francisco such as Fisherman's Wharf, Haight-Ashbury, and Union Square. DAYS 1-2 DENVER
Welcome to Denver! Check into your hotel and settle in. Then, explore the city. On day 2, experience Rocky Mountain National Park, celebrated for its wildlife and spectacular vistas! On your journey back, enjoy photo opportunities and a stop for refreshments. (Overnight in Denver)
DAY 3 DENVER > GRAND JUNCTION
Travel to the Amtrak station and board the California Zephyr to Grand Junction for one of the most beautiful train trips in North America. Check into your hotel and enjoy Grand Junction at your leisure. (Overnight in Grand Junction)
DAY 4 GRAND JUNCTION > ARCHES AND CANYONLANDS > GRAND JUNCTION
Take a day tour of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks rich colors, canyons, petrified dunes, mesas and buttes. Experience Canyonlands from the Island in the Sky, a scenic drive along the rim of the mesa. (Overnight in Grand Junction)
DAYS 5-6 GRAND JUNCTION > SALT LAKE CITY
Travel to the Amtrak station and board the California Zephyr to Salt Lake City. On day 6, you'll visit Temple Square, the Mormon Tabernacle and much more on your included tour. This evening, dinner is included. (Overnight in Salt Lake City) D
DAYS 7-8 SALT LAKE CITY > YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
Take your included shuttle to West Yellowstone, widely held to be the first national park in the world. On day 8, enjoy a tour of the Lower Loop, which includes Old Faithful, Isa Lake and many more amazing attractions. (Overnight in Yellowstone National Park)
DAY 9 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK
Today, take a leisurely drive back to Salt Lake City aboard the included shuttle. Spend a little more time relaxing this afternoon or this evening at your hotel or spend some time exploring the city further as you prepare for your evening departure on the train. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)
DAYS 10-11 SAN FRANCISCO
Today’s train journey travels through the American West before arriving in the “City by the Bay.” On day 11, use your included hop-on, hop-off sightseeing tour to visit Golden Gate Park, Chinatown, Pier 39, Union Square and other landmarks. Your included CityPASS also provides some amazing admissions for activities like a visit to the the California Academy of Sciences or a sightseeing cruise around the harbor. DAY 12 SAN FRANCISCO
