Daily Itinerary:

Upon arrival into Barcelona, make your own way to your hotel and check in for a three-night stay. Then, step out to explore the colourful city. You can choose to bask in the sun amidst the mosaics of the Parc Guell, catch a boat out on the ocean, or ride the cable car to the top of Montjuïc hill, where you'll be treated to delightful views over the city as well as a plethora of grand museums. After breakfast embark on a tour of Gaudi's 2 master pieces; Casa Batlló and the spectacular Sagrada Familia. After, spend time wandering along the city’s most famous shopping street, Las Ramblas. This tree-lined boulevard is packed with plenty of street artists, shops and great places to sit and people watch.  (Overnight in Barcelona) B

Art lovers also won’t want to miss a visit to the Picasso Museum to view a huge collection of the famous artist's work. After a busy day sightseeing, treat yourself to a glass of locally made sangria and delicious tapas. (Overnight in Barcelona) B

Following breakfast, board a direct train for Málaga, the capital of Andalusia. When you arrive in the late afternoon, travel on your own to your hotel and check in. Then, step out and enjoy what the evening has to offer, including enjoying a 1-hour Flamenco show full of colour and passion. The Spanish stay up late, so there is plenty to see and do!  (Overnight in Málaga) B

On your second day in Málaga, enjoy breakfast then continue exploring Costa del Sol. There are many things to see, do and experience, including strolling along the vibrant port, climbing the Gibralfaro for some spectacular views and the Alcazaba fortress (built by the Hammudid dynasty in the early 11th century) or relaxing on Malagueta, the most popular beach in the region.  Tickets to the Picasso Museum here (Picasso was born in Malaga) are included in your package, so you don’t need to worry about queuing. Relax onboard the train ride from Málaga to Granada, the land of a thousand castles. The city’s streets are filled with bohemian cafes, monumental churches, tapas bars, and teahouses. (Overnight in Granada) B

This Andalusian city in southern Spain is famous for a single monument — the Alhambra. Use your skip the line admission to the incredible Moorish fortress and experience it for yourself. The UNESCO World Heritage site houses breath-taking 13th- to 15th-century palaces and gardens, grand archways and delicate ornamental mosaics. (Overnight in Granada) B

Take train to Seville via Antequera Santa-Ana. Seville is a stunning city with grand, Moorish influenced architecture and a vibrant Andalusian culture. Spend an evening getting your bearings and perhaps enjoy some local tapas at a pavement bar. (Overnight in Seville) B

Ride the bus from Seville to Faro, then catch your train to Lisbon. Portugal's historic capital city is draped over seven hills overlooking the mouth of the River Tagus. As one of the oldest cities in the world, it has a huge amount to explore from the narrow streets of the Barrio Alto to the majestic Praça do Comércio, the central square overlooking the wide river. Wander through the UNESCO World Heritage listed Old Town, witness the colourful market hustle and bustle of the Mercado do Bolhão, and don't miss a tour of the Fundação de Serralves, a contemporary art gallery housed in a beautiful Art Deco building with lovely gardens. Take a morning train from Porto to the fishing port town of Vigo. Known as the “gateway to the Atlantic,” there are plenty of things to see, do and experience during your visit. Explore Porta do Sol, Playa de Samíl, Rúa Pescadería, and Castro Fortress. (Overnight in Vigo) B

Board a direct train to Santiago de Compostela, known as the final stop on the incredible Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail. Featuring Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque buildings, Santiago de Compostela is the capital of the Spanish region of Galicia. (Overnight in Santiago de Compostela) B

Take the day to enjoy the town at your leisure, strolling through its arcaded streets and admiring the architecture along with fine Galician seafood and wine. A 2hr tour of the Catedral de Santiago de Compostela will surely be a highlight, as you learn the vast history of this sacred site reaching back to the 9th Century. Travel by direct train from Santiago de Compostela to Leon. The city features beautiful historical architecture, such as its cathedral and other grand monuments. Visit the Basílica de San Isidoro, Gaudí’s Casa Botines, and have tapas in the Barrio Húmedo. (Overnight in Leon) B

After breakfast, catch a direct train from Leon to Bilbao, which was awarded winner of the 2018 European City of the Year by the Academy of Urbanism. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and start discovering the city’s architecture, dining scene and gorgeous landscapes of the Basque Country. Catch a direct train from Bilbao to Madrid. On arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. In the afternoon, why not take a stroll around the impressive Buen Retiro Park, one of the largest parks in all of Madrid, and a wonderful spot for people watching, architecture spotting and even boating on the shimmering lake. After breakfast in your hotel this next morning, head out to one of the world-famous museums that make up Madrid's ‘Golden Triangle of Art,' including the iconic Prado Museum.
