In just over half an hour, the cogwheel train climbs more than 1,500 metres, offering spectacular views of the Matterhorn, Gorner Glacier and surrounding Alpine peaks. Keep watch for local wildlife along the way, including wild ibex often seen on the mountainside during summer.
