Tashkent
Tashkent is the capital city of Uzbekistan and the most populous city in central Asia. Although originally destroyed by Genghis Khan in 1219, it was later rebuilt and became an important stop on the Silk Road. Today, Tashkent has a multi-ethnic population, and is famous for its mix of modern and Soviet-era architecture.
