Split

Cradling the shimmering shores of the Adriatic coast, Split is the second largest city in Croatia, and one of its finest. Split attracts visitors with tantalizing tales of its glorious beaches and the ancient ruins of Diocletian's Palace. The remains of this enormous fortress lie in the heart of the city and dates back to the 4th century. Today, over 200 buildings now lie within the palace's ruins including many shops, cafes, restaurants and residential buildings.
