Lyon

Nestled in the heart of the Rhône-Alpes, at the confluence of the Rhône River and the River Saône, Lyon is recognized as the capital of French gastronomy and is much admired for its famous wineries in the surrounding Beaujolais and Côtes Du Rhône regions. The historic centre of Lyon is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its Roman artifacts and 12th Century Presqu'île architecture. Climb up to the stunning Fourvière basilica for great city views and be sure to visit a traditionally Lyonnaise ‘bouchon.’
